34th ADSA Discover Conference – Reexamining Amino Acid & Energy Interactions in the Dairy Cow
May 29, 2018 @ 8:00 am -
Jun 1, 2018 @ 5:00 pm
The 34th Discover Conference will focus on the interactions of metabolizable amino acids and energy sources in lactating dairy cattle. The topic is important to the dairy industry because these nutrient classes do not function in isolation but each alters utilization of the other. This topic is timely because of its major impact on the environmental and economic sustainability of dairy production. The Discover Conference will provide a venue for discussions about interactions of energy and amino acids and be an important source of new information. Conference topics include pre- and post-absorptive Interactions, changes in energy and AA interactions over the lactation cycle, translating dynamic elements of nutrient metabolism into feeding systems, and research gaps for the dairy industry.
Who Should Attend?
Members of the dairy science community who are interested in amino acid and energy nutrition of dairy cows are encouraged to register. This includes researchers, extension specialists, and consultants from academia, government agencies, and allied industries. Dairy and beef cattle nutrition consultants, feed and crop industry technical specialists, veterinarians, and animal health company representatives are invited. Graduate students are encouraged to attend.
