Translating the Science of Milk Genomics

Translating Science for Milk Genomics information on presentation board

PROJECT LEAD: Carl Whithaus, UC Davis

TIMELINE: January to December 2021

BACKGROUND: Each year, over 20,000 new scientific articles are published and indexed with the keyword, “milk” in the major medical and agricultural databases. Given the pace of scientific progress, it is extremely difficult to keep up to date with the latest developments in milk genomics and human health.

OBJECTIVE: SPLASH!® milk science update provides a bi-monthly e-newsletter, with content mirrored on the International Milk Genomics Consortium (IMGC) website, to highlight emerging research trends in the scientific research literature and to translate the content of those articles for the non-expert.

INDUSTRY BENEFIT: Highly accessible bi-monthly e-newsletters. SPLASH!®  identifies and highlights the best research findings, then contextualizes these findings and explains their significance for both the dairy industry and researchers in other subfields.

*This project is managed by CDRF and funded by the IMGC.
